Lazy layered Eton mess recipe
One of my favourite dessert recipes has to be Eton Mess! Layers of lovely thick whipped cream, fresh strawberries and crumbled merengue for that delicious crunch, yum! And it’s easy to make too! All you need is a mixer for the whipped cream and a knife to cut the strawberries and that’s it.
It’s the perfect dessert for a group of friends as it’s easy to make and I’ll guarantee you they will love it! Serve in fancy glasses for that extra special feeling or in simple lemonade glasses or mason jars for a more country feel.
4 persons, 5 minutes to make, 15 minutes to cool
Step by step guide
– 150 grams of fresh strawberries
– 30 grams of sugar
– 250 ml whipped cream
– 80 grams of meringues
Gather your ingredients. I used 30 grams of sugar to sweeten the whipped cream, but you can increase if you want. Remember that the meringues bring a lot of sweetness to the dessert too!
Chop the strawberries into chunks and remove the green part. Mix the whipped cream together with the sugar and whip until it’s thick and creamy. Don’t crumble the meringues yet until you start layering, this way you won’t lose half of it in the proces.
Grab your glasses and start layering! Start with a layer if whipped cream, then add the strawberries and finally crumble the meringues into big chunks on top of this. Repeat this proces three times and finish with an extra layer of strawberries.
You can also choose fancy wine glasses or whiskey glasses for a chicer feel or maybe even a mason jar for a country style dessert.
