3 things that make a comfy outfit look stylish
While styaing in, I make sure that I get dressed properly to avoid hanging around in my pyjama’s and not really doing anything. Instead, I dress myself as if I’m going to work. This gives me the energy and the right mood to actually get to work at home.
However, I do want to feel comfortable and I wrote this article discribing how you can find the right balance between being comfortable and looking the part, even at home!
''Tip 1: Wear a cosy yet elegant sweater ''
What is the first thing you think of when you hear the frase comfortable clothing? Right, a cozy sweater!
When your house is warm, however, you do not need to dress in the biggest oversized sweater you stole from your boyfriend (eventhough that’s a nice option too).
Instead opt for some lighter materials and an elegant shape like this wrap-sweater I bought at Bershka or a slightly oversized sweater with an elegant pattern. The soft and light materials will make feel comfy, yet you will look stylish enough to walk out the door and into that important lunch work date which your obviously having. ;)
''Tip 2: Palazzo pants are comfy and stylish ''
Where has the time gone that everybody wore skinny jeans? Now, streetstyle is dominated by wide, flowy and comfortably lose silhouettes and for good reason!
While a skinny jeans can be comfortable, especially when there is lots and lots of stretch in them, nothing can top a well fitted wide legged pants in being comfortable! When it flows in the right way off of your hips, it even feels like you’re not wearing pants at all (or maybe more like a skirt for my fellow non-nudists ;) ).
All you need to remember is that your palazzo pants isn’t too big on you. A size too big might be comfortable, but a well tailored pants still will look far more stylish and ready for work or going out with friends, than ill-fitted trousers ever will!
''Tip 3: Balance your look''
Off course, you don’t have to go for a light and elegant sweater or a wide and flowy palazzo pants, you can also go for a big, bold sweater and tighter fitting stretchy jeans.
The key is to always keep in mind the balance and the proportions of your body and the pieces you want to wear. A loose top (most of the time) is most flattering with tighter fitting bottoms and a tighter top will look amazing with wider bottoms.
